Triennium Pictures

July 2007

Below you will see pictures of 6 youth from our Church that are attending The Presbyterian Youth Triennium at Prudue University during July 2007. Pastor Pat, Sam, Stacy, Mitch, Elliot, Shea and Kaitlin along with other youth in our Presbytery, are having a very inspirational trip. We are posting the pictures as they send them to us. Enjoy!

Tuesday: Busy, Busy Day! We had a worship service at Covenant Point Monday night where we laid all of our school supply offerings around the Lord's Table. Tuesday morning, we took a 7 hour bus ride to Purdue. Tonight we had a full worship service, then some precious down time to relax later in the evening.

Wednesday: Today we met twice in our small groups. In our small groups, we put together school bags for Project H.O.P.E. and prayed together over our bags. We continue to meet a lot of new people, trade a lot of pins and buttons and have fun. Worship has been amazing! Many people have been moved to tears. Very inspirational.
We also wore our Presbytery's kiwi green shirts today. So, everyone you see in a green shirt in these pics is someone from our Presbytery (Missouri Union).

Thursday: Today was another amazing day! We are growing closer and closer to the other youth from our Presbytery and the youth in all of our small groups. It has been encouraging to see our youth break out a bit from their Mexico group and try to meet other people.
Worship today was the best of the week so far. We were given a real blessing by having Soul Children of Chicago lead us in worship. They are an innercity youth choir that travels around the world (They are going to Israel next). They were wonderful and full of energy and excitement. They expanded what we as mid-western Presbyterians are used to during worship.

Friday: God really blessed us today with wonderful weather. We spent most of the day outside. We had a pizza lunch outside with our friends from the Synod of Mid-America (Missouri-Kansas). We also had an all Triennium picnic dinner with 5,000 Presbyterians eating on one of the outdoor malls on the Purdue campus. We concluded the day with an extremely emotional outdoor candlelit service at dusk. Our speaker was Mark Yaconelli, who was amazing. He told stories that made our youth laugh and cry. We then had a prayer service and lit 5,000 candles and held them high to end the day....

Saturday: It's going to be hard saying goodbye tomorrow... We had our last small groups tonight and that was very difficult to say goodbye to new friends. The boys from the Missouri Union Presbytery went bowling this afternoon. And, the girls got dressed up for a 60s-70s dance party. We had a wonderful communion service this afternoon and we are all really looking forward to our closing worship.

Here are our final pictures! We got onto the bus at noon and made it back to Covenant Point by 7:30 (1/2 hour ahead of schedule!). We had a wonderful final day. We packed in a hurray, ate quickly and then gathered for closing worship - which was fantastic! But, everyone felt the worship service was too brief (only 90 minutes!) We were used to worship services between 2 and 3 hours long each day! It's very nice to hear youth complain that worship was too SHORT! How nice is that? We all said goodbye with hugs and cell phone # exchanging. We made a lot of new friends and felt God's amazing presence all week. Hope you enjoyed the pictures! They are also up on our web-site www.mexicofpc.com. Blessings to all of you and thank you so much for helping our youth attend a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You have helped them all experience Hope in Their Midst! In Christ, Pat
